Audiology referrals in Melbourne and Geelong

Dear Colleague,

We'd like to make it easy to refer a patient to Apex Hearing.

We own and run the clinic, and we remain closely involved in client care. We have 14 clinics across Melbourne, Geelong and the Bellarine.

We have no ties to any hearing aid maker or corporate group, and our staff are not paid commission. We fit all major brands sold in Australia.

If a patient doesn't need hearing aids, we tell them so. If they do, they can have a free 30-day trial at home.

We offer hearing assessments, hearing aid fitting, tinnitus assessment and custom hearing protection. We also remove earwax by micro-suction for adults 18 and over, at Moonee Ponds and Hampton.

We also visit patients at home or in aged care, at no cost.

Between us, we have 61 years of combined experience. Orlando ran two independent clinics in Italy for over 20 years and speaks Italian.

A referral is not needed. But some Medicare rebates do require a GP referral.

We are both registered for Medicare, WorkCover and the Hearing Services Program.

Some patients may qualify for hearing aids at no cost through the program. Conditions apply, and we can check for them.

To talk about referring a patient, call us on 03 9521 6118.

With thanks for your time,

Referring a patient

How to refer a patient

Here's what happens when you send a patient to us.

  1. 01

    Your patient contacts us

They can call us, book online or take our online hearing test. Your usual letterhead is fine.

  2. 02

    We test their hearing

A hearing assessment takes 30 to 40 minutes. We explain the results to them clearly.

  3. 03

    We share the results

With your patient's consent, we share their results with you. If hearing aids may help, we discuss options.

  4. 04

    Medical review where needed

If we find sudden hearing loss, ear pain, fluid or dizziness, we ask them to see you.

  5. 05

    We look after follow-ups

Wherever possible, they see the same audiologist at each visit. Follow-ups and adjustments have no appointment fee.
