Terms and conditions
These terms apply to your use of this website and to the services provided by Apex Hearing Pty Ltd, trading as Apex Hearing. Please read them before booking an appointment.
Last updated: 21 September 2026
These terms are under review and are yet to be settled by the practice's legal adviser. Appointment, cancellation and payment terms will be confirmed with you directly when you book, and those confirmed terms prevail over anything on this page.
1. About us
This website is operated by Apex Hearing Pty Ltd (ABN 97 463 857 668), trading as Apex Hearing, an independent audiology practice with clinics across Melbourne, Geelong and the Bellarine.
By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
2. Information on this website is general only
The health information on this website is general in nature. It is not a diagnosis, it is not personal clinical advice, and it does not take account of your individual circumstances.
Nothing on this site, including the online hearing check, is a hearing test or a substitute for an assessment by a qualified audiologist. Any result shown by the online check is a prompt to seek an assessment, not a measurement of your hearing.
If you have ear pain, discharge, sudden hearing loss, dizziness, or tinnitus in one ear or that pulses with your heartbeat, please see a doctor promptly rather than relying on information published here.
3. Appointments and bookings
A booking request made through this website is a request, not a confirmed appointment. We will contact you to confirm the time, the clinic and the purpose of the visit before anything is booked.
You do not need a referral to see us. A written referral from a GP or specialist is required only where you wish to claim the Medicare rebate on a diagnostic audiology assessment, and it must be written before the assessment takes place.
If you need to change or cancel an appointment, please contact the clinic as early as you reasonably can so the time can be offered to someone else.
4. Fees, funding and payment
A hearing screening is free for adults aged 25 and over. Other services are charged, and you will be told the cost before anything goes ahead.
Prices shown on this website are current at the date stated on the prices page and may change. Where a price is given as a range or as a starting figure, your actual cost depends on the service and the device you choose.
Where you are eligible for government funding, we will tell you what it covers before you commit to anything. Eligibility is determined by the relevant programme and not by us. Funding we can assist with includes:
- The Australian Government Hearing Services Program, for which we are an accredited provider
- Medicare rebates on diagnostic audiology assessments, with a written referral
- Department of Veterans' Affairs entitlements
- WorkCover and WorkSafe Victoria claims that have been accepted
5. Hearing aid trials and follow-up care
Hearing aids may be taken home on a free 30-day trial. If you decide not to proceed, the devices are returned to us in reasonable condition at the end of the trial and no purchase is made.
Follow-up appointments, programming and adjustments are included with hearing aids purchased from us, with no limit on the number of appointments, for as long as you have the devices.
Hearing aids are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. The terms of that warranty are set by the manufacturer and will be provided to you with your devices.
Specific cancellation, deposit, repair and refund terms will be confirmed with you in writing before purchase.
6. Home and residential aged care visits
We do not charge a call-out or travel fee for a home visit. The appointment itself is charged as it would be at a clinic, and funding applies in the same way.
Home visits are subject to the address being within the area our clinicians travel to, and to safe and reasonable access for the clinician and their equipment. We will confirm both when you book.
7. Your privacy
We handle personal and health information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Our privacy policy explains what we collect, why, and how it is stored and disclosed.
The online hearing check on this website does not submit, transmit or store your answers. They remain in your browser.
8. Using this website
The content of this website, including text, photographs, diagrams and design, belongs to us or is used with permission, and may not be reproduced without our consent. Manufacturer names and logos are the property of their owners and are shown to identify the brands we fit.
We take reasonable care to keep this website accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, and we may change or remove content at any time.
This site links to third-party websites, including government pages about funding programmes. We are not responsible for the content of those sites.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on general information published on this website, as distinct from clinical advice given to you personally at an appointment.
10. Feedback and concerns
If you are unhappy with any part of your care or your experience with us, please tell us. The quickest route is to ring the clinic and ask to speak with Julian or Orlando directly.
We would rather hear about a problem and have the chance to put it right.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you use the site is the version that applies, and the date it was last updated is shown at the top.
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
