About this online test
What this online test can and can't tell you
The online check gives you a first idea of how you're hearing.
Your phone or computer, your headphones and the room around you all affect the result. That's why it's a guide, not a diagnosis.
Only a hearing test with an audiologist can measure your hearing. A screening is free for adults 25 and over, and you don't need a referral.
A full hearing assessment takes 30 to 40 minutes and costs $130.
If you have sudden hearing loss, ear pain, fluid from your ear or sudden dizziness, see your GP or go to an emergency department today.
If anything stands out, we'll explain what we find.
Common questions
Questions about the online hearing test
Is this the same as a hearing test?
No. It's a quick guide you can do at home. A hearing test with an audiologist measures your hearing in a quiet room with calibrated equipment.
Who runs the online hearing check?
It's run for us by Beyond Hearing on their own website. Please read their privacy notice before you start. You're welcome to call us with questions.
What should I do after seeing my result?
It's a guide only. If anything stands out, you're welcome to book a screening, free for adults 25 and over.
Can I answer for my mum or dad?
Yes, and many people do. It helps to answer together if you can. You're also welcome to call us first.
What if nothing stands out in my result?
That's reassuring, though it's a guide only. Hearing often changes slowly. To be sure, you're welcome to book a screening.
